greeNEWit Partners with Minnick’s for Earth Month Sustainability Tour

Laurel, Md.— At greeNEWit, we believe every day is Earth Day. While every day is a golden opportunity to appreciate and cultivate our relationship with the Earth, one month of the year, April, is reserved especially for this thought.

greeNEWit is proud to partner with Minnick’s, an HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) company in Laurel, MD, to bring our message of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and environmental sustainability to elementary schools all around the Baltimore-DC metropolitan area. Both greeNEWit and Minnick’s hold education and environmental stewardship at the foundation of our belief systems, so a partnership to provide STEM and Green Schools programming to elementary schools seemed natural.

In 2015 alone, the OUR Schools program has already reached 12 schools and over 5,500 students with our fun and educational STEM & The Environment Assembly, STEM Nights, and Renewable Energy Lesson Plans. In addition, we work with school PTAs to make families aware of state sponsored energy efficiency programs that save families money while raising funds for their schools.

We always joke that April is like the Christmas season for the OUR Schools program because it’s a fun and exciting time to be an educator, and an even better time to be a student! Keep an eye out for greeNEWit, Minnick’s, and the OUR Schools program in the following school communities this year, as you may find students singing our songs, leading recycling rallies, and acting as Energy Detectives using STEM to continue improving our planet:
