Save Money on Energy Bills, Earn Money for Your Organization
Join our community of nonprofits, extracurricular clubs, peer groups, neighborhood associations and more as we help members of our society reduce their carbon footprint and save natural resources.
We start by partnering with organizations in the local community and providing them with education on home energy. This may come in the form of an energy efficiency workshop delivered at a local church, a presentation to a group of school students about the importance of saving the environment or a mock energy audit for a group of neighbors interested in seeing just how much it can increase home comfort. We’ve found this educational component to be the first step that equips you with the knowledge you need to be more energy efficient.
From there, all that is needed to generate the funds for your organization is for community members to participate in any of greeNEWit’s residential service offerings. This may include getting a Quick Home Energy Check-up (QHEC), a home energy audit or an introduction to cleaner energy sources such as wind power and solar power.
Through the Quick Home Energy Check-up, you’ll get energy-efficient products installed in your home or apartment at no additional cost to your normal utility bills. When greeNEWit installs these products, your electricity bills will go down. With greeNEWit, your installation is free!
The Quick Home Energy Check-up program is part of the Empower Maryland Energy Efficiency Act and most people don’t realize they are already paying for the service through a regular charge on their utility bill. So take advantage, and your bills will go down as a result. When someone in your organization completes a Quick Home Energy Check-up, greeNEWit will give $20 back to your group. You can choose to take additional steps toward your path to sustainability with an energy audit or the installation of solar panels. Your organization will also get $40 for each completed energy audit and $50 from greeNEWit for the successful installation of solar panels.
