STEM-Enriched Sustainability Presentation for Schools
Energy experts and Agents of Change from greeNEWit give a “life = energy = planet” presentation that teaches students about how they are connected with our environment and how our past and current society will shape their future. Despite the students age, we will teach them how they can make small behavioral changes that add up to make a large difference on our environment. As the presentation unfolds, we strive to show students the long-term benefits of energy efficiency and to identify all potential opportunities for reducing consumption and saving resources. The presentation demonstrates how a business in the real world uses the principles of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) to achieve its energy saving and sustainability goals.
We’ll discuss what energy is, where it comes from, why it is important to save it and how you can do so. Energy experts will discuss different technologies used to produce energy, such as renewable sources and fossil fuels, and their subsequent impact on our planet.
Since this push was initiated, we have reached more than 7,000 youth at schools in Howard, Baltimore, Montgomery and Prince George’s County. Through this program, we hope to neutralize the carbon footprint of Maryland schools in the next 10 years. We’ll also produce the first generation of truly energy-conscious students, teachers, staff and administration.
